The agreement builds on the companies’ existing relationship in Canada and appoints Univar Solutions as the exclusive distributor of Tata’s range of prebiotic dietary fibers

US-based Univar Solutions Inc., a global chemical and ingredient distributor and provider of value-added services, has recently announced an expanded distribution agreement with Mumbai’s Tata Chemicals Ltd.

The agreement builds on the companies’ existing relationship in Canada and appoints Univar Solutions as the exclusive distributor of Tata’s range of prebiotic dietary fibers – FOSSENCE and GOSSENCE across the Eastern and Central United States.

The addition of FOSSENCE and GOSSENCE, which are produced using Tata Chemicals’ proprietary in-house developed fermentation technology, to Univar Solutions’ industry-leading specialty ingredients portfolio, provides food and nutraceutical manufacturers in the United States with additional options to help them meet evolving health, wellness and nutritional trends.

“We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Tata Chemicals to provide exclusive access to their digestive health and functional ingredients for the fast-growing food and nutraceutical industries,” said Matthew Ottaway, senior vice president of consumer solutions at Univar Solutions. “By combining Tata’s patented bio-fermentation process and commitment to sustainable manufacturing with Univar Solutions’ technical expertise and market reach, customers will experience outstanding value through innovative, wellness-inspired solutions and new product development opportunities for years to come.”

The Nutrition Sciences division of Tata Chemicals Ltd., under the brand Tata NQ, produces prebiotic dietary fibers designed to help promote the growth of a healthy microbiome and offers additional formulation benefits including assistance with sugar reduction. These digestive health ingredients are used in a wide range of applications including dietary supplements; functional foods (bakery, dairy, snack foods); nutraceuticals; confectionaries; pet food; and other nutritional solutions.
