Bio-Nutrients and ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal develops soymilk powder

At present the firm is producing around 100 tons of soymilk powder per year and marketing at an average price of Rs. 225/- per kg of soymilk powder

A collaborative research project entitled “Studies on the application of membrane technology for production of instant soymilk powder” was undertaken between M/s Bio-Nutrients (India) Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal and ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal in which a process has been developed for production of instant soymilk powder with improved colour and reconstitution properties. The process consists of pre-concentration of soymilk, spray drying of concentrated soymilk at optimised conditions, and finally agglomeration of soymilk powders in a fluidised bed dryer. 

The optimised conditions of the process parameters based on research results were adopted by M/s Bio-Nutrient which helped the firm in producing improved quality soymilk powder and better market acceptance as a minimally processed protein powder. Consistently the M/s Bio-Nutrients (India) Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal has worked in collaboration with ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal to produce high-quality Soymilk powder. At present the firm is producing around 100 tons of soymilk powder per year and marketing at an average price of Rs. 225/- per kg of soymilk powder.

There is huge potential for manufacturing and export of good quality soymilk powder from Madhya Pradesh, especially by M/s Bio-Nutrients (India) Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal, being the leading producer of soybean in the country. The production of high-quality soymilk powder with the consistent efforts of M/s Bio-Nutrients (India) Pvt. Ltd., Bhopal and ICAR-CIAE, Bhopal.
