Lov Verma, a 1978-batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, working as Secretary, Department of AIDS Control under Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare. He replaces Keshav Desiraju, a 1978-batch IAS officer of Uttarakhand cadre, who was transferred as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs. Desiraju, who was appointed a year ago as Health Secretary.
Verma had held additional charge as secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare since his predecessor Keshav Desiraju’s transfer to the Department of Consumer Affairs on February 11.
