Ministry of Food Processing Industries is all set to launch its first mega event World Food India 2017 in New Delhi on 3rd to 5th November, 2017. Apart from highlighting various domains of the food industry business, the event will also introduce a curated food experience zone called ‘Food Street’. MoFPI has roped in star chef of the country, Sanjeev Kapoor as its brand ambassador for the event.

Food Processing Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal told reporters that the global food event held for the first time in India will provide a platform to investors to taste the food and then take a call on investing in India under the ‘Make in India’ programme. “We will also showcase different cuisines of India and other countries during the three-day event. Chef Sanjeev Kapoor has given consent to be part of it. He will help showcase not only traditional Indian food, but also fusion to suit western palates,” the minister said.

Organized by the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India,(WFI) will be the largest gathering of investors, manufacturers, producers, food processors, policy makers, and organizations from the global food ecosystem. It aims to provide opportunities for both investment and trade in the food processing sector for leading Indian and international companies. Encompassing the entire food spectrum from production to consumption, WFI is looking at creating a better sourcing environment, thereby enabling higher returns for farmers, creating employment, and fostering entrepreneurship.
