NuFFooDS Spectrum Magazine organised a conference on the subject ‘Nutraceutical Regulating for Growth’ on 5 October, 2017 at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi. Supported by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), the conference highlights the importance of nutraceuticals in India and how this industry has transformed over the years.

This conference was appreciated by Suresh Prabhu, Minister of Commerce & Industry, Govt. Of India through a video message and it was chaired by Pawan Agarwal, CEO, FSSAI and he was accompanied by Vijay Thombre, Publisher & Managing Editor, NuFFooDS Magazine, Milind Kokje, Editor in Chief, NuFFooDS magazine, TS Giridharan, Vice-President, Supply Chain OmniActive Health Technologies and Dr. R. B. Smarta, Founder & Managing Director, Interlink Marketing Consultancy Pvt. Ltd.

Addressing the inauguration function, Pawan Agarwal said, “I really appreciate that NuFFoods has taken up this important subject which has been kept on the sidelines by others. Every month, I look forward to getting my hands on the NuFFoods magazine in order to update myself with the current happenings of food domain across the country.”

“In India, almost 46 per cent of its population is suffering from nutrient deficiencies which is very high. So addressing this issue and spreading awareness among the denizens of this nation is of foremost importance. With our youth getting more inclined towards fitness, it is our responsibility to guide them on the right path. There is one domain which I feel that India has been lagging behind in sourcing the nutraceutical products from the international market. And FSSAI currently is penning down a chart which can bridge this gap.” During this event, an approach paper prepared by NuFFooDS Spectrum Magazine and Interlinks was also released.

Speaking on the occasion, Vijay Thombre said, “Our association with nutraceutical started almost 13 years ago, initially we began as a venture and with the support of industry and other experts, we became the mouth piece of the industry.”

He also cherished the work done by Pawan Agarwal and his team to bring more transparency in food business by chalking down various schemes and policies.

The event, supported by OmniActive Health Technologies, DuPont, GrassRoot Nutrition and HealthKart, witnessed participation of over 70 industry leaders from food and nutraceuticals sector.
