C-CAMP collaborates with AgriHub of Brazil

The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP), India’s premier bio-incubator and innovation hub, has signed an MoU with AgriHub, an initiative of the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso in Brazil (FAMATO), with an aim of encouraging and promoting the best deep science innovations in the Agri Industry in Brazil and India.

 

The two centres intend to create an Indo-Brazil Agri Innovation Corridorthat will foster links between both hubs and enhance collaborations in science-based entrepreneurship, researchand businesses in the Agri sector by leveraging upon each other’s ecosystems. The MoU was formally signed by Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director of C-CAMP and Marcos da Rosa, Vice-President, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso. 

The MoU will be one of the very first initiatives undertaken by C-CAMP under its recently launched Agri-Innovation Centre and will bring to light global farmer issues and innovations to address those issues.

 

Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO & Director, C-CAMP said, “India and Brazil share many common values in terms of culture and economy. We are excited that we are working together in Science and Technology, that too in Agriculture sector, which is the backbone of both economies. Through this corridor, we hope to build Agri innovation collaborations and take innovations to farmers in both countries”.

 

Marcos da Rosa, Vice-President, Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of the State of Mato Grosso said, “It’s an important moment for us in the Famato System and for the strengthening of the AgriHub project to make this partnership. A great opportunity to share technologies and information that will benefit rural producers in both countries. We have been researching the farmers’ pains to find disruptive solutions and we believe this partnership can be a bridge to hit those solutions“.
