Taiyo’s Lekh R Juneja chosen as IFT Fellow

Dr Lekh Juneja, Executive Vice-President of Taiyo Kagaku and President of Taiyo International, has been awarded the prestigious IFT Fellowship for 2013 by The Institute of Food Technologists for his outstanding leadership and innovative contributions in the areas of functional foods and nutraceuticals.

The IFT Fellow designation is an honor bestowed upon an IFT member by their peers, recognising exemplary professionalism and experience for their contributions to the food science and technology field.

As a leader in the research, development, production and marketing of nutraceuticals and functional foods for the food and pharmaceutical industries, Dr Juneja has gained an international reputation for innovation and business acumen. He has been credited with more than 130 patents, authored more than 175 peer-reviewed research articles and three books. He maintains professional relationships with management in more than 50 multinational food, healthcare and cosmetic corporations. Dr Juneja served on the Advisory Board of the IFT Nano-science Panel from 2009 to 2011.

The Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) is the world’s largest non-profit professional organisation for the advancement of food science and technology based in Chicago. It is the organizer of IFT Annual Meeting and Food Expo.
