The government of Karnataka has plans of dedicating over 22,000 acres of land in the state in coming years. Speaking at the inaugural of BioFach India, a three day International Organic Trade Fair held at Palace Ground, Bangalore Krishna Byre Gowda, Minister of State for Agriculture, Government of Karnataka said, “Karnataka has plans to dedicate 100 acres of land in every taluk in the state for Organic farming”.
Discussing about Organic farming, Krishna Byre Gowda, said: “Organic farming has a lot of potential and is growing at a fast pace. The state supports organic farming and also encourages farmers to do organic farming.”
Speaking of the market of organic farming he added: “Consumer awareness should grow in terms of organic foods. People should we well aware about the advantage of organic farming.”
Eminent speakers such as Dr Suh Chong Hyuk, President of International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements (IFAOM) Asia, Frank Eyhorn, Gerald Herrman and many other industry experts will be sharing their thoughts on different topics related to organic farming. The event will be held till November 16. Tariq Anwar, Minister of Agriculture and Food Processing Government of India and other industry experts were present in the event. Apart from India, BioFach will take place in United States, South America and China.
