Bombay HC extends product approval and license obtaining deadline by 8 weeks

The Bombay High Court has extended the deadline for product approval and obtaining licenses by eight weeks. The new deadline is therefore 28th March 2014.

“In our view, taking into consideration the peculiar facts and the circumstances of the case, we are of the view that the said date for obtaining license before 4th Feb 2014 will have to be extended by at least for a period of 4 weeks,” said the High Court in its ruling.

“The last date of obtaining the license is extended by further period of eight weeks from today (31st January, 2014).” The judgement said.

Vital Nutraceuticals and others had filed a writ petition against Union of India which came up for hearing before the court on 16th December 2013. Justice V M Kanade and Justice Girish Kulkarni heard the petition.

However, Justice Girish Kulkarni differed on the judgement and he would deliver a difference judgement.
