Shimadzu Corporation, a manufacturer of precision instruments, measuring instruments and medical equipment, based in Kyoto, Japan, announced the release of its Crude2Pure (C2P), the world’s first automated purification/powderization system. Incorporating automated purification and powderization technology, using trap concentration, this system can purify target compounds from synthetic products consisting of low molecular weight organic compounds and complicated natural substances, and recover them as highly pure powders. It is intended for use in a wide variety of fields, including drug manufacturing, chemistry, foods science, government and academic research, for such applications as the measurement of organic synthetic compounds and natural substances.
By automating purification and powderization, this system significantly reduces operator workload, and provides an environment in which processing is simple even for novices. With this system, Shimadzu provides a solution for preparative, purification and powderization processes when combined with the preparative LC (liquid chromatograph) system, and contributes to improved preparative/purification efficiency.
