Sami Labs and Arya Vaidya Sala, Kottakal sign MOU for cooperation

Sami Labs, Bangalore and Arya Vaidya Sala (AVS), Kottakal have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for co-operation in product development and marketing. The MOU was signed at Kottakal by senior authorities of AVS and Sami Labs following several rounds of talks between senior management teams of AVS and Sami Labs for over the last six months.

Major areas of co-operation identified in the MOU are – marketing of AVS products by Sami Labs and Sami Direct Marketing in India and through Sabinsa Corporation and Sami Direct Marketing all over the world, co-development of new products, development of standardized herbal extracts, exploring possibilities of large scale cultivation of essential medicinal plants through contract farming and creating public awareness and seeking government support in efforts to conserve and cultivate endangered medicinal plant species.

Reacting to the development, Dr P K Warrier, managing trustee and chief physician, Arya Vaidya Sala, emphasised the need for incorporating modern scientific methods and technology for enhancing the knowledge base of Ayurveda with the ultimate objective of bringing affordable health care to the suffering humanity.

Dr Muhammad Majid, founder and managing director, Sami Labs, said that he felt honoured in entering into the MOU with AVS. He considered it as a recognisition for the pioneering work that he has been carrying on relentlessly for the past over a quarter of a century in propagating the merits of Ayurveda the world over and manufacturing and marketing standardized medicinal plant preparations in a manner acceptable to the develop world.

Arya Vaidya Sala, pioneer in classical Ayurveda, is in forefront in carrying forward principles and practices of classical Ayurveda with appropriate support of modern technology. Sami Labs is pioneer in the field of identifying and standardising active molecules that are available in various medicinal plant applications and establishing the efficacy and application of such standardized molecules for improving the health and wellbeing. Its products of consistent quality standards are manufactured to international standards of quality. It has over 90 international patents to its credit.
