i-Pulse, an oral antioxidant that helps to fight free radical damage, developed by Bangalore based by Olive Lifesciences was evaluated for Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) 5.0 at Brunswick Laboratories, USA and the total antioxidant power of i-Pulse against the five predominant reactive species was found to be 117.96 μmole TE/milliliter. The ORAC result is expressed as micromole Trolox equivalency (μmole TE) per milliliter.

“The recommended daily intake of i-Pulse is 2 ounces (60 ml) which has an approximate ORAC value of 7000 units. Health experts currently recommend consuming 5,000 ORAC units per day for optimal antioxidant protection,” said Dr H N Shivaprasad, Vice-President, Olive Lifesciences.

According to the company sources, i-Pulse can help to maintain healthy skin, with different fruits having high antioxidant potential with acai berry as the major composition. i-Pulse supports restorative powers that will supercharge health and assist in delaying premature aging. With its unique and synergistic combination of antioxidant fruits, i-Pulse is an excellent defense against free radical damage, supporting management of healthy cholesterol, improving immunity.

The ORAC tests are among the most acknowledged methods that measure antioxidant scavenging activity against oxygen radicals that are known to be involved in the pathogenesis of aging and many common diseases. ORAC 5.0 consists of five types of ORAC assays that evaluate the antioxidant capacity of a material against five primary reactive oxygen species (ROSs, commonly called “oxygen radicals”) found in humans: peroxyl radical, hydroxyl radical, superoxide anion, singlet oxygen, and peroxynitrite.

i-Pulse drink was launched in January 2014 in major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Ooty, Coimbatore, Trivandrum, New Delhi and Raipur. The drink is giving excellent result with consumers and the sales of i-Pulse increased month after month. I-Pulse is marketed by Indus Viva HealthSciences.
