Anand Nambiar, working as Managing Director, Optronics Division at AZ Electronic Materials, a Merck KGaA Company in Hong Kong since November 2012 has been named as the new Managing Director of Merck Ltd. The company has informed BSE that Dr Claus-Dieter Boedecker, Managing Director of the company, has submitted a letter to the Board resigning from the office of Director and Managing Director of the company due to his desire to relocate himself to his home country i.e. Germany. He has requested the Board to relieve him from his responsibilities by the close of business on January 31, 2015.
The company noted that the Nomination and Remuneration Committee of the company at its meeting held on December 18, 2014 has recommended to the Board the appointment Anand Nambiar as the new Managing Director subject to the completion of various formalities, compliances, etc. as may be required in this regard.
Before joining AZ Electronic Materials as Global Operations Director in July 2010, Anand Nambiar worked with Cascade Microtech as vice president operations for over 2 years and with Nikon Precision Inc. for over 11 years at San Francisco Bay Area.
