Bhanu Pratap Sharma, Secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare was given an additional charge of the post of chairperson of Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) for a period of two months with immediate effect on Feb 5 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
It may be noted that Bhanu Pratap Sharma, was appointed as secretary, Department of Health and Family Welfare on January 31 as Lov Verma, who was transferred to Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment as Secretary in the vacancy of Stuti Narayan Kacker, who got retired.
Bhanu Pratap Sharma, a science graduate, has did his PG Diploma in business management from XLRI, Jamshedpur and MPhil from National Defence College of India located in New Delhi, but affiliated with Madras University for the award of MPhil degree in ’Defence and Strategic Studies.
