Asian Countries applaud NIFTEM’s efforts in food processing sector

India’s National Institute of Food Technology Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM) recently participated in an observational study – “Multi-country Observational Study Mission on Food Safety Management Systems along Food Value Chains” held at Tokyo, Japan.
Out of the 18 participants, Dr Anurag Singh, Assistant Professor, Food Science and Technology, NIFTEM, represented India in this study mission, which was organized by the Asian Productivity Organization, Tokyo, Japan.
The study mission required the participants to visit various food processing industries, farms, research institutes and deliberate on issues related to food safety and quality. Participants also shared various methods adopted in their respective countries to ensure food safety and maintenance of food quality in the value chain.
Dr Singh also shared India’s Make in India initiatives, NIFTEM’s contribution in food processing sector, entrepreneurship, Village Adoption Program for composite development of rural Indian economy.
NIFTEM’s initiatives were highly appreciated by the all the participants from Bangladesh, Cambodia, Republic of China, Republic of Korea, India, Indonesia, Iran, Laos, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam.
