Researchers have been studying on ingredients which can fight against cancer, to bring light on this issue Renowned Food consultant Gitanjali Gurbaxani, and Vice President, The Women’s Cancer Initiative, Tata Memorial Hospital Devika Bhojwani launched ‘Fight Cancer with Flavour’, a cook book for cancer management.

Sharad Tyagi, Managing Director, Boehringer Ingelheim India said “The book ‘Fight Cancer with Flavour’ is an initiative to create awareness about importance of correct diet in cancer management. This book is developed keeping in mind cancer patient’s palate and provide cancer patients and caregivers access to healthy recipes that enhance patients nutritional levels and benefit them.”

Cancer can have an enormous impact on the patient and their caregivers. The associated strenuous treatment drains the patient of his physical, mental and emotional being, affecting body’s ability to tolerate certain foods and utilize the nutrients.  

Constipation, Vomiting, Nausea and loss of appetite and taste are common symptoms which prevent them from eating properly. As a result, the body’s strength and nutrition levels dip drastically.

With a view to create ease for patients as well as for the caregivers, Boehringer Ingelheim India in association with Times Group came up with a book that has healthy combinations of commonly available ingredients, bringing out some healthier eating options available to the patients.
