Coca‑Cola Company announces investment by Jubilant Bhartia Group in India
Bengaluru based Jyothy Laboratories is planning to enter into three new categories and expand two existing categories in Ayurveda business. This consists of neem based body washes, face washes and hair tonics, which may soon be launched.
The company aims to increase its market share in personal care Ayurveda segment to approx. 10 per cent by FY21.
The company’s portfolio of six power brands – Ujala (fabric whitener), Exo (dish bar), Maxo (household insecticides), Henko (fabric detergent), Margo (soaps) and Pril (dish wash) contributed 87 per cent to revenue in FY17.
The expansion through product launches under Ayurveda segment is expected to increase revenue from personal care to Rs 500 cr by FY21. The proportion of personal care segment in total revenues is expected to increase to 25 per cent in FY21 from 21 per cent.
Apart from Ayurveda products, company intends to add variants to existing margo soap and toothpaste portfolio. Face wash is expected to become the biggest personal care category for the company.
