The inaugural session of the AOAC’s fifth annual conference with partner in food science and safety, organized in New Delhi recently. 

In that session, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by FSSAI and AOAC International, was exchanged by Pawan Kumar Agarwal, chief executive officer of FSSAI and Kaushik Banerjee, president of the AOAC India Section.

Through this MoU, AOAC offered free access to the official method of analysis (OMA) to the country’s apex food regulator.

The FSSAI will also support the AOAC in its capacity building programmes and in initiating collaborative studies on developing and validating the methods of analysis for various nutritional and food safety parameters in India specific food matrices.

The regulator, in turn, will recognise the FSSAI’s methods for official control purposes.
