The Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences has initiated a new research project titled “Transforming India’s Green Revolution by Research and Empowerment for Sustainable Food Supplies”.

Awarded by the Cambridge University, UK, the project is the first of its kind, focusing on new technological innovations in the area of sustainable agriculture and nutrition security, going beyond the seed-fertiliser-water package of the green revolution.

It aims to trigger a second green revolution, which will not only increase productivity but conserves water, soil quality and plant biodiversity. This apart, the Trident Academy of Technology, Bhuban-eswar, in association with the Indian Association of Energy Management Professionals and Association of Green Industries and Services recently organised a two-day national workshop-cum-exhibition on “Emerging Green Career and Business Opportunities”.

Expert P. Saxena talked about the need of positive attitude towards clean and green environment and green energy. It was announced at the workshop that four lakh jobs have been created in green energy sector and four million more jobs are expected to be created in next one decade.
