PAU inks pact for brewed fruit vinegar technology

The Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana, has recently entered into the agreement with Brewcent Private Limited, Gopalpur, Naubatpur, Patna (Bihar) for commercialization of Brewed Fruit Vinegar Technology.

 

Dr Navtej Singh Bains, Director of Research, PAU and Sriram Kumar, MD, Brewcent Private Limited signed the pact on behalf of their respective organizations.

 

Dr Ashok Kumar, Additional Director of Research (Farm Mechanization and Bio-energy) added that the agreement will go a long way to promote the availability of the Brewed Fruit Vinegar to the potential consumers on large scale.

 

Dr G.S. Kocher, Senior Microbiologist, inventor of the technology informed that brewed vinegar is fast replacing synthetic vinegar because of beneficial effects of inherent bioactive compounds present in fruits and also contributed by the micro-organisms.

 

Dr G.K. Sangha, Dean, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities and Dr Shammi Kapoor, Head Department of Microbiology PAU Ludhiana were also present at the occasion.
