Industrial conglomerate, RUJ Group is planning to bring European yogurt and milk products to the Indian market by setting up a fully-automated dairy processing unit in Jaipur.
The groups arm, Rajendra & Ursula Joshi Food Industries Pvt Ltd (Rufil) has invested Rs 40 crore towards setting up the milk processing plant, with an installed capacity of 50,000 litres per day (LPD), expandable to 1 lakh LPD.
The company started its operations about a year ago and currently procures cow and buffalo milk from about 200 farmers through seven bulk milk chilling collection centres, mostly around Jaipur. The current procurement is about 11,000 LPD, which it aims to increase to 50,000 in one year.
