German wine and spirits unit, Henkell & Co and cava producer, Freixenet will become Henkell Freixenet after the German firm bought the cava producer earlier this year.

New logo of the company along with new name will become effective as of 1 January 2019.

Henkell reached an agreement to buy 50.7% of Spain’s Freixenet for just under €220 million in March.

When the deal was announced, José Luis Bonet Ferrer, Freixenet president said: “In Henkell we have found a strong partner with a long-term strategy which will significantly strengthen Freixenet and help us to maintain our identity and tradition – with an even stronger international presence in the future.”

Also, Henkell’s and Freixenet’s joint operations in the US will be known as Freixenet-Mionetto.
