The project is currently in full swing and includes a series of related studies

The University of Milan participates in the project with a research team with specific skills in the field of packaging for the Food sector, which is coordinated by Sara Limbo, associate professor in the department “DeFENS” (Department of food sciences, nutrition and the environment).

For its part, Spreafico Automation has provided a platform for the development of studies: a real automatic machine along with supporting the project with a financial contribution, being able on the contrary to benefit exclusively from the results of the studies, covered by confidentiality clauses. Spreafico Automation, which can already boast a great experience in the sector, will therefore acquire a unique know-how in the context of self-protected capsules and the behaviors they have depending on their type and the different conditions of use.

The project, which started in the summer of 2018, takes into account the self-protected capsules, those that do not require over-packing but already have such barrier characteristics as to guarantee the shelf life of the product, commonly used within the plethora of systems in circulation (“Nespresso”, “A Modo Mio” etc.).

The project is currently in full swing and includes a series of related studies, thus not only complex, but also susceptible to “changes in progress” to adapt the research method to those problems that are gradually encountered.
