The conference served as a platform for industry leaders from the F&B sector to discuss various aspects

The food processing industry is among the growing industries in the country, and as per the data, it is accounting for over 32 percent of the country’s total food market. The market size of global food packaging is also expected to reach $411.3 billion by 2025, according to a new report by Grand View Research, Inc., registering a CAGR of 5.1 percent. Also, it is expected that the size of the Indian packaging industry will grow from the present size of $12 billion to $18 billion by the year 2020.

Acknowledging the increasing importance of packaging in the food and beverage industry, UBM India organised the 7th Annual InnoPack F&B Confex that took place recently in Gurugram, India.

The conference served as a platform for industry leaders from the F&B sector to discuss various aspects such as: rejuvenating cutting-edge technology; food safety; sustainability; digital printing; industrial automation; recyclable & biodegradable packaging; customer experience through efficient packaging; etc. Also, this edition provided opportunities to the industry experts to share their experiences and case studies based on their areas of expertise.

Dr. Subodh Jindal, Managing Director, Excelsior Foods & Chem. Industries, shared his insights on the current position of the F&B processing and packaging industry in India. Udai K Saxena, Ex-Member, FSSAI Committee of Experts on Categorization of food products, enlightened the audience by providing insights on the latest updates of FSSAI claims and advertising.

The two day conference saw participation of speakers like Prabodh Shirish Halde, Head – Global Regulatory, Marico Ltd; Sukhdev Singh Saini, Packaging Manager, Colgate Palmolive; Dr Rick Michelman, Chief Technology Officer & Executive VP, Asia, Michelman Inc and others in sessions like current position of the food & beverage processing and packaging industries in India; 

The two day conference saw panel discussions on various topics like Recent trends in recycling/sustainability solutions in packaging; recent innovations in labelling and printing; packaging as a brand-visually communicating the value and others.
