The ICAR-Indian Institute of Spices Research, Lucknow has launched a new initiative christened “SPIISRY” for supporting the primary producers of spices while providing the good quality spices and allied products to the consumers.
Dr. T. Janakiram, Assistant Director General, (Horticulture Science – II), ICAR, New Delhi inaugurated the “SPIISRY” in Lucknow.
Dr. Janakiram stated highlighted the main objective of the innovation that would essay a new chapter in the in the development of the agricultural commodity retail marketing sector through facilitating consumer access to high quality produce authenticated by the research institution.
The outlet will offer the customers with the good quality spices and allied value-added products sourced from the verified primary producers, incubates of ICAR-IISR and other sister institutes.
At present, more than 50 products are being made available at the outlet. Apart from making available the spices, spice powders and wellness products from spices to the customers, the outlet will also offer technology inputs for the farming of spices and other crops.
