Patanjali has been asked by the Ministry of AYUSH to provide all the details

The long-awaitied ayurvedic cure for COVID-19 has been launched by renowned Yoga Guru, Baba Ramdev with a claimed 100 percent recovery rate in a span of 3 to 7 days.

Named Coronil, the ayurvedic medicine has been formulated using Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera), Giloy (Tinospora cordifolia) and Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum).

Coronil is the result of the work put in by 500 scientists of Patanjali Research Institute and scientists of Jaipur-based National Institute of Medical Science.  It is expected to be available for consumers by the end of June, 2020. 

On the other hand, Patanjali has been asked by the Ministry of AYUSH to provide at the earliest details of the name and composition of the medicines being claimed for COVID treatment; site(s)/hospital(s), where the research study was conducted for COVID-19; protocol, sample size, Institutional Ethics Committee clearance, CTRI registration  and results data of the study (ies) and stop advertising/publicizing such claims till the issue is duly examined.

Ministry has also requested concerned State Licensing Authority of Uttrakhand Government to provide copies of license and product approval details of the Ayurvedic medicines being claimed for the treatment of COVID -19.
