The Poshan Maah is observed every year in the month of September

To commemorate the ‘Poshan Maah’ organised by Ministry of Women and Child Development, a meeting was recently held by Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution (DoFPD) with CMD, Food Corporation of India, MD, CWC and senior officers of the department.

The Poshan Maah is observed every year in the month of September. 

As part of this, the DoFPD through its organisations have decided to organise activities as suggested by M/o Women and Child Development, in various parts of the country to sensitize the target groups on the merits of nutritional security.

Poshan Maah or National Nutrition Month was launched across the country in 2019. With Women & Child Development as the nodal Department, a month-long activities were conducted last year focusing on antenatal care, anaemia, growth monitoring, girls’ education, diet, right age of marriage, hygiene and sanitation, eat healthy as themes are being showcased in form of food melas, rallies, school level campaigns, anaemia test camps, recipe demonstration, radio & TV talk shows and seminars all across country.
