The launch comes on the back of Danone India’s commitment to FSSAI’s Eat Right Movement to reduce sugar in its portfolio by 20% by 2020

Danone India has announced the launch of Zero Added Sugar variants of Protinex in Tasty Chocolate and Vanilla Delight flavours in a bid to fulfil its commitment to FSSAI’s Eat Right Movement. It had pledged to reduce sugar in its portfolio by 20% by 2020 in an endeavour to bring healthier food choices to Indian consumers with its HFD brand Protinex that has a rich heritage of over six decades. With its mission ‘to bring health through food to as many people as possible’, Danone aims to address protein deficiency among Indian consumers.

Speaking about the launch, Himanshu Bakshi, MD – Danone India, said, “Indian consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of the impact of food choices on health and are looking for low sugar, nutrient dense products. Danone continues to strengthen its commitment to health through partnerships and product innovation, based on local consumer needs and evolving lifestyles. With this launch, we have eliminated added sugar from our adult portfolio without compromising on taste in our bestselling flavours. Our endeavour is to inspire healthier eating and drinking habits.”

Tasty chocolate and Vanilla Delight are now available in Zero Added Sugar variant. The products are currently available in leading modern trade stores across India & e-commerce platforms like Amazon, Big Basket, PharmEasy etc in 250gm and 400gm packs. The products will be on shelves in pharmacies and general trade stores from this month.
