The partnership is a direct response to growing demand in effective and scientifically backed solutions for gut health

FrieslandCampina Ingredients, based in the Netherlands, and Canadian firm Lallemand Health Solutions have partnered to launch two brand new gut health product concepts. PRO-Digest Health Shot and PRO-Digest Bowel Support bring together best-in-class prebiotic and probiotic ingredients into single concepts that will enable companies to formulate enhanced gut health products.

Both concepts contain 5 grams of FrieslandCampina Ingredients’ Biotis GOS prebiotic ingredient. Biotis GOS increases levels of Bifidobacteria in the gut of healthy adults, improving gut discomfort, constipation, and improving other GI-symptoms.

Biotis GOS has also been shown, via the gut-brain axis, to improve anxiety levels and support overall mental well-being, allowing formulators to create enhanced solutions which respond to growing consumer interest in solutions that improve both gut and overall health simultaneously.

The PRO-Digest Health Shot combines Biotis GOS™ with 5 billion cfu (colony forming units) per serving of Lallemand Health Solutions’ B. lactis LAFTI® B94. B. which has been shown to support a healthy microflora by feeding probiotic bacteria which reinforces gut barrier integrity and helps to relieve abdominal discomfort such as occasional constipation.

PRO-Digest Bowel Support has been specifically designed to alleviate digestive discomfort and improve the day-to-day symptoms of consumers with digestive issues. The concept contains 10 billion cfu of L. paracasei HA-196, which research shows improved quality of life in adults with IBS-like symptoms, helping with bowel frequency in occasional diarrhoea and/or constipation.
