AYUSH 64 and Immunomodulators are proven to be effective in boosting the immunity and treating of mild to moderate Covid-19 patients: Prof. Ramesh Kumar Goyal

AYUSH Committee and the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) recently organised a webinar on ‘Building Higher Immunity through Ayurveda for Omicron Variant’.

Pradeep Multani, President, PHDCCI said, “There are vaccines and booster shots that will help strengthen the immune system and keep you protected, but small things like having a nutritious diet, staying physically active, keeping stress at bay, drinking plenty of water, and including organic supplements to your daily routine will always help develop a stronger immune system and body.”

While mentioning about the Omicron variant, Chief Guest Prof. Ramesh Kumar Goyal Vice Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences & Research University, (DPSRU) said, “The modern medicine has no clear answer to Covid-19 & the Antiviral drugs have no direct effect in Covid-19 except the immune boosting through vaccination whereas Ayurveda played a major role in boosting immunity against Covid-19 in home isolation. In recent studies it has been proved that Ayurveda gave authenticated results for Antiviral activity.”

Prof. Goyal said that the study on Ashwagandha & Giloy is going on at DPSRU.

Dr. Yogita Munjal Deputy Director, Government of NCT of Delhi mentioned that with more than 180 AYUSH dispansaries in Delhi and four AYUSH hospitals, Directorate of AYUSH has a robust infrastructure in tacking covid-19 situation.

She also explained about advisory for AYUSH self-care and Immunity boosting measures has been released in various versions through social media for creating awareness.  She talked about the dedicated covid-19 health care centres being established by Delhi government where more than 7000 patients have been treated in these centers during the pandemic.
