Schneider shared the investment plans during a media roundtable recently
Swiss multinational company Nestlé is planning to invest Rs 5000 crore by 2025 in India, as stated by the company’s global Chief Executive Officer Mark Schneider.
As per media reports, the main objective is to accelerate the company’s core growth in India and to leverage new opportunities such as plant-based proteins, healthy ageing, healthy snacking, leveraging some of the Indian grains. This new investment plan will also help in creating more job opportunities in India.
According to Suresh Narayanan, Chairman and Managing Director, Nestlé India, “It has been the stated strategy of Nestlé India that we would aggressively seek new platforms and categories for future growth opportunities.”
During FY21-22, the company generated a revenue of Rs 14,634 crore for the India business, despite a highly volatile economic environment.
