Napa Valley College broke ground on the Wine Spectator Wine Education Centre, followed by a special ceremony attended by students, faculty and community dignitaries.
This is the first of two phases to build The Napa Valley College Wine Education Complex, which will more than double classroom and training space with 10,000 square feet of modern, efficient learning space.
The centre is funded through a $10 million lead gift from the Wine Spectator Scholarship Foundation. The groundbreaking also kicked off a capital campaign to raise $4 million for the Wine and Hospitality Training Centre. Together, the two centres will create the Wine Education Centre Complex, which will more than double classroom and training space with nearly 8,000 square feet of modern learning space for the college’s Food and Wine Career Pathway.
The complex will provide education and employment in wine growing and winemaking, as well as wine marketing and sales. The new facilities will also support the College’s new Food and Wine Pathway Program, providing complementary degree programs in Viticulture Winery Technology (VWT) and Hospitality Culinary Tourism Management (HCTM).
