This limited-edition beer is available exclusively in Goa and Taipei, which are both known for their vibrant craft beverage scenes
India’s Latambarcem Brewers (LB Brewers), recognised for its innovative craft beers, has partnered with Taiwan’s Jim and Dad’s Brewing Company to launch India’s first bottled tea beer, MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche. This cross-border collaboration represents a significant milestone in the retail craft beer industry in both India and Taiwan, combining traditional Taiwanese Xiangzhuang Red Oolong tea with Belgian brewing techniques used for Blanche beers.
This limited-edition beer is available exclusively in Goa and Taipei, which are both known for their vibrant craft beverage scenes. MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche is crafted by adding Oolong tea leaves near the end of the brewing process, resulting in a refreshing wheat beer infused with the delicate notes of Red Oolong tea. Priced at Rs 150 and boasting an ABV of 4-5 per cent, this unique product is designed to appeal to craft beer enthusiasts and those seeking diverse cross-cultural beverages.
The introduction of MAKA di Oo-Long Blanche follows the successful launch of LB Brewers’ MAKA di Rocket Rice Lager, further solidifying the company’s presence in the craft beer market in India and beyond. Their product line, which includes light, medium, and strong lagers, is popular in regions such as Goa and Uttar Pradesh and has also gained a following in the U.S., Canada, and UAE markets.
