Inside BENEO’s new pulse plant: pioneering sustainable protein from faba beans
The company has launched 20 varieties of handcrafted dumplings with flavours like Edamame Truffle, Smoked Chicken and Cheddar Cheese, Sriracha Chicken and more
Happy Monk has officially launched the country’s first premium packaged frozen dim sum brand, crafted for the modern, flavour-forward consumer. With over 20 varieties of handcrafted dumplings with flavours like Edamame Truffle, Smoked Chicken and Cheddar Cheese, Sriracha Chicken and more, the brand is setting a new benchmark for gourmet experience in home dining.
Each dumpling is expertly crafted, freshly frozen, and made with clean, preservative-free ingredients to offer a guilt-free experience and deliver restaurant-style excellence in just minutes without sacrificing time or quality.
The brand was founded by seasoned marketers Varun Kapoor (ex-ITC, HUL) and Deepthi Nair (ex-Bisleri, MTR, Capital Foods, Allana) with a shared passion and a drive to bring something truly special to India’s food scene. With decades of experience in building iconic FMCG brands under the F&B sector, their journey was driven by a personal mission to create a product that met the evolving demands of the modern consumer.
At the heart of Happy Monk is its karigars, the skilled artisans/chefs who are the main force behind the tasty dumpling.
“We’ve seen the food industry evolve, but the frozen food category in India has remained largely unchanged. We saw an opportunity to introduce something more premium, more exciting, and more in line with what the consumer wants,” says Varun Kapoor, Co-founder, Happy Monk. “Our goal was simple: to bring high-quality dim sums to every home without sacrificing flavour, convenience, or authenticity. What started as a small experiment quickly grew into something bigger because we saw the demand for truly exceptional frozen food.”
“Happy Monk is more than just a food brand, it’s a lifestyle experience that can be made easily accessible for the quality-conscious audience”, adds Deepthi Nair, Co-founder.
