Bakery Business, the trade show dedicated to the bakery and pastry industry of India, inaugurated its 10th edition in the
MMRDA grounds of Mumbai today, with a theme ‘Completing a decade of service to the bakery industry’. The exhibition
which made its debut in 2006, brings the bakery industry to one platform, is occupying 30% more floor space this time
compared to previous editions. Besides the trade show, the exhibition brings competitions, live bakery theatre and
knowledge seminars under one roof. This edition of the show is having 150 plus national and international exhibitors
showcasing over 500 products/brands in three days.
Pradeep Gopalan, director, Hospitality First (organizer of the event), said “Bakery Business celebrates ten years with this
edition. This edition is special as it commemorates our journey of a decade. Besides, reflecting as always, on the
overwhelming demand for space from current exhibitors and the increasing interest in the show and the industry. Bakery
Business is moving from World Trade Centre to the heart of Mumbai. The 10th edition will be staged at the newest and
most central business district Bandra- Kurla Complex. With over 175 plus exhibitors from across India and overseas this
edition promises to awe inspire over 9000 business vistors from across the industry.”
The live competitions in the show allows both individual and team participations under different categories of baking. The
5th Professional Home Bakers Challenge on 26th Nov will have competitions under three categories and present a Home
baker of the Year award. The 7th India bakery and pastry challenge on 27th Nov will be a professional competition for chefs
from luxury hotels, witness some of the best chefs participating. The fair, with over 150 exhibitors will include companies
from foreign countries from the packaging industry to machinery manufacturers, chocolates to ingredients.
Under Live Bakery Theatre, there will be master baking classes on 26th Nov presented by Chef Anupa Das on fine art of
baking delicious sweet and savory snacks incorporating California Walnuts. The 10th edition Knowledge seminars in Bakery
Business will talk about interesting trends from the global neighborhood and real time solutions on financing and online
marketing by industry experts and senior government functionaries.
