Arla has partnered with Bangladesh-based dairy co-operative MilkVita, as it aims to sustainably develop Bangladesh’s dairy industry and better understand the needs of consumers in the country.

The agreement will see both companies share knowledge and best practice, and methods from the Danish dairy sector will be shared with MilkVita in order to help improve quality standards to the level of those applied in Europe.

The agreement will also allow Arla to gain a better understanding of the Bangladeshi dairy market, enabling it to develop targeted products for a market which holds great potential.

Arla has operated in Bangladesh since 1961, and distributes milk powder products through its Dano brand.

According to Arla, demand for dairy products in the country is growing, but local dairy production in Bangladesh only meets 40% of this demand, thus development of the industry is necessary to meet the needs of consumers.
