The Department of Food anf Drug Administration has begun a survey of roadside eateries in the district ahead of launching a sensitisation programme for them on food hygiene and safety.
Department executives led by R Ramesh Babu, Designated Officer, Food Safety and Drug Administration, Tiruchi, conducted the survey in the city on July 1st, 2021, and enumerated as many as 228 roadside eateries including the night tiffin stalls, pushcarts, panipuri, bhajji/vada and allied vendors. The survey will continue over the next few days in the district.

Similarly, they will also be sensitised against using water in a single bucket for all the plates and vessels. Alternatively, they could use a 25 L water can with a pipe to wash the plates and vessels, said Dr Ramesh Babu.
