How has the nutritional market positioned itself during the covid pandemic?
People have been pushed to the boundaries of their houses, laptops and kitchens, making them reimagine their whole idea of immunity and a healthy body for survival. This has caused a change in consumer behaviour for food, from everyday wellbeing to basic survival. Consumers have started taking harsh steps to stay safe during the pandemic by improving their immunity and avoiding typical comfort lifestyles. Label reading of products to understand what is good for them and what isn’t is slowly becoming common sense. The nutraceuticals market will see a growth of 35 per cent (CAGR), to $18 billion in 2025, from $4 billion now, and it is believed that this trend will continue due to the pandemic. We all remember our families during the initial months, recommending turmeric milk, kaadha with ashwagandha, ajwain, tulsi and all other sorts of superfoods that have become normal now. We target that part of the market with easy to source and comfortable nutraceutical food supplements for their daily lifestyle.
This virus has proven that it can’t be eradicated easily because of its evolving nature. No vaccine or therapy has a 100 per cent efficacy. Only a sustained and robust immunity along with dietary and lifestyle changes can give you a fighting chance. A lot of companies have instantly brought products to combat the virus. Unfortunately, this overnight research isn’t reliable.
It has taken me 14 years to develop the unique formula for their product called Preventika, which is an immunity booster. Our immune system helps in fighting diseases and each organ in our body has different immunity and needs a different kinds of ingredients. Preventika is made using 14 herbs, including curcumin, all sourced locally. This product will help boost your overall immunity system and not specifically for coronavirus only. Our philosophy is to eliminate the root cause of diseases rather than treating symptoms by stimulating the natural healing immunity of the body, something people are taking seriously now.
How has been the journey of Zyropathy post its inception?
After I decided to quit the Indian Navy in 2011 to devote time entirely to sharing knowledge, Zyro Health Care was founded in December 2015 to manufacture food supplements. Initially, there was a taboo around the new modern Indian society accepting something related to natural healing and trusting in the slow process of healing naturally. However, gradually people started realising the benefits, especially after we backed it up with research and results. This drastic shift of people trusting their roots for survival during the pandemic has resulted in our business booming.
How many new products are in the pipeline?
Zyropathy has constantly been researching continuously to serve the people with the best products that benefit all. Our new product range includes Zyronaturals for high blood pressure, gall bladder stone, cream for psoriasis and eczema, kidney stone, strength and stamina, creams for joint pain, vitiligo and cancer.
What kind of ingredients are used by Zyropathy to manufacture the products?
Zyropathy believes that the human body is made of food, and therefore only food can repair it. Consequently, we use 100 per cent natural ingredients for making Zyro Naturals and food supplements like fish oil, wood apple, turmeric, black pepper, ginseng, chondroitin etc., for our various products. Furthermore, we ensure, no drugs, steroids, immunosuppressants and harmful ingredients are used.
From where do you source the raw materials?
The raw materials are mainly sourced from all over the country. Depending on the availability of herbs across the country, we call in materials from the south, inter-city and locally.
What kind of approvals did you receive both from the Indian and global perspectives?
Zyropathy products come with AYUSH approval, GMP, HACCP, and ISO certification. Within a few years of its inception, we have received ISO certification and a certificate of appreciation from the Ministry of Ayush due to their contribution to healthcare.
Tell us about your business model?
The USP of Zyropathy is that it is a complete wellness solution provider. It covers all four aspects of human health – promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative. Whenever there is an ailment in the body, allopathy only controls symptoms and the side effects of medication result in developing another ailment. Homoeopathy is a good option but more useful to treat deficiencies of vitamins and minerals. Ayurveda helps cure illnesses related to Vata, Pitta and cough whereas most of the prevailing ailments do not fall in this category. While Zyropathy combines Ayurveda with modern science to eradicate the ailment from the body. Big companies talk about wellness; they even have products that contribute to people’s health but there is no system to guide people. Zyropathy fulfils these gaps by providing consultations that are backed by modern diagnostics. In other words, it is the contemporary form of Ayurveda. At Zyropathy, we use a combination of zyro naturals for fulfilling the deficiency of essential nutrients in the body that also helps in rejuvenating the non-essentials system within and aims at your healthy wellbeing. It eliminates the root cause of the ailment. Hence, providing long-lasting relief in lifestyle ailments without any side effects.
In which countries, apart from India, do you have your presence? Do you plan to foray into new countries?
