Azelis commits to SBTi’s emission reduction targets

Through the SBTi commitment, Azelis will develop global reduction targets and action plans for its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions

Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the speciality chemicals and food ingredients industry, is proud to announce that it has signed the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) commitment letter to develop greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction targets. As one of the first in the chemical distribution industry to make this commitment, this is a testament to Azelis’ ongoing efforts to minimise its carbon footprint and environmental impact.

The SBTi is a global climate action organisation that remains the gold standard for companies setting ambitious science-based targets to mitigate their environmental impact. Consistent with the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming, the SBTi provides frameworks for reducing GHG emissions.

Through the SBTi commitment, Azelis will develop global reduction targets and action plans for its Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, extending the sustainability aim beyond its operational footprint and positioning the company for long-term success in a low-carbon economy.

Azelis’ strong performance in executing its sustainability strategy is reflected in its top CDP, EcoVadis, and Sustainalytics ratings. Together with its inclusion in the BELESG Index, this commitment further demonstrates Azelis’ industry leadership in sustainability and the proactive steps the company is taking to make gains in the sustainable chemical industry of the future.
