This realisation inspired the establishment of Botanic Healthcare with a powerful mission to alleviate discomfort and enrich lives through the finest, top-class natural ingredients. Now, we are a globally recognised manufacturer of bio-active and nutraceutical ingredients and natural herbal extracts with an active presence across more than 50 countries.

Recently, Botanic Healthcare raised Rs 250 crore in funding from investors. What kind of growth are you looking for with the help of this fund in the long run?

The capital will fuel Botanic Healthcare’s aggressive expansion strategy, with the company aiming to grow by 400 per cent over the next five years. As part of its plans, Botanic Healthcare will enhance its product portfolio and forge strategic partnerships, while boosting its R&D and clinical research capabilities through joint ventures and collaborations.Botanic Healthcare’s growth vision is further supported by investments in technology, innovation, and talent acquisition. The company is focused on building a robust R&D pipeline and hiring top-tier professionals across various departments, including research, development, production, quality assurance, and sales, to effectively scale its operations.

Germany and South Korea are also growing rapidly, with increasing interest in plant-based and Ayurvedic solutions. We maintain lean, strategic teams across each region, focused on business development, regulatory compliance, and customer support, while core operations and R&D remain centralised in India for efficiency and consistency.

How do you foresee the branded ingredients and ingredients market? Who and how many of your major clients are buying these branded ingredients?
The branded ingredients market is growing rapidly, driven by demand for clinically backed, differentiated actives. We supply primarily to B2B clients across the US, Europe, and Asia-Pacific who value our science-backed ingredients for products targeting immunity, cognition, and metabolic health. As the industry moves towards premium, proven solutions, we see strong momentum and continued expansion.

Which are your key revenue churners?

Our primary revenue driver is our branded botanical ingredients, especially those targeting immunity, cognitive health, and metabolic wellness. While specific revenue breakdowns by sector aren’t publicly disclosed, the company’s focus on science-backed, high-efficacy ingredients has positioned it well in the global nutraceutical market. This strategic emphasis continues to fuel its expansion and innovation efforts.

How much is the export revenue? What is the percentage of revenue from the domestic market?

A significant portion of our revenue, 75 per cent, comes from international markets, reflecting our strong global footprint across the US, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and beyond. The domestic market currently contributes around 25 per cent, but is steadily growing as awareness and demand for high-quality, science-backed nutraceuticals increase in India.

Botanic Healthcare has been conducting advanced clinical research and studies on innovative ingredients. What is your current research about?

We have signed MoUs with many universities, and projects submitted and under consideration with DBT, Spice Board, Coconut Development Board and other government funding agencies. Eight clinical trials are in progress, among which three are sponsored by customers for joint work.

What will be your plans to ensure more consistent product quality and standardisation, and regulatory compliance?

We ensure consistent product quality through stringent QC protocols, in-house testing, and global GMP-certified processes. Continuous investment in R&D, regulatory expertise, and traceability systems helps us meet and exceed international compliance and standardisation benchmarks.
