Paladin Wines set for 20 per cent category leadership

Projects a 30 per cent volume increase as it expands distribution into Goa and Karnataka

Paladin Wines, under the banner of Morgan Beverages, is fast emerging as a defining force in India’s premium wine and vermouth landscape, a segment that continues to grow at double-digit rates as Indian consumers evolve toward more refined, global tastes.

Founded by Rohan Nihalani, who is also the Co-Founder of Cartel Bros. and the name behind successful whisky brands like The Glenwalk and The Glenjourneys, Morgan Beverages has steadily built a reputation for bringing high-quality international spirits and wines to India. Paladin, one of its flagship labels from Italy, is now taking a bold step forward, eyeing 20 per cent category leadership and projecting a 30 per cent volume increase as it expands distribution into Goa and Karnataka.

Since its selective introduction in 2017, Paladin Wines has carved a strong niche in markets like Mumbai and Pune. Achieving annual imports of 45,000–60,000 bottles and contributing nearly 20–25 per cent of Morgan Beverages’ total retail distribution sales this year. The label also holds the distinction of being among India’s few certified vegan wine brands, further enhancing its appeal to modern, mindful consumers. Paladin’s carefully curated portfolio features the Draggo Rosso Merlot – one of the fastest-selling red wines in its segment, with over 1500-1700 bottles sold in one quarter, alongside a range of acclaimed Italian varietals, including Prosecco Rosé, Syrah, Pinot Grigio, Dry Prosecco, and Amarone.

“The demand has been remarkable, and we’re preparing to double our volumes by 30 per cent as we expand operations into Goa and Karnataka”, said Rohan Nihalani, Founder of Morgan Beverages and Co-Founder, Cartel Bros. “Vermouth, in particular, has shown exceptional momentum. We imported around 1,500 bottles last year, but have already crossed 5,000 in off-season sales. With the festive season now underway, we anticipate even stronger uptake. The inconsistency in competitor supply has opened a clear path for us to lead this category.”

With its entry into Goa and Karnataka with selective variants in October 2025, the brand will subsequently roll out across major metros by May 2026. The expansion marks another milestone in Morgan Beverages’ vision to redefine India’s alco-bev landscape by bridging the gap between global luxury and local demand.
