Centre ensures adequate arrangements for paddy procurement in Punjab
With this investment, the cooperation is centered on the promotion of a zero-waste economy and the long-term sustainability of cattle breeding and dairy technologies.
With the intention of bringing about a change in India’s dairy business, B.L. Kamdhenu Farms Limited, a leading subsidiary of BL Agro Group, has taken a big stride forward. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the company and M/s DeLaval, which is situated in Sweden, on the second day of World Food India 2024.
This MoU was signed in the presence of HE Jan Thesleff, the Ambassador of Sweden, who was the chief guest at the event.
Vision behind the cooperation
With an investment of over INR 1500 crore, the cooperation is centered on the promotion of a zero-waste economy and the long-term sustainability of cattle breeding and dairy technologies. It is the intention of this collaboration to make use of cutting-edge technologies and farming solutions, such as milking essentials, farm management, and cow comfort.
The objective of the programme is to establish a circular economy by incorporating all aspects of the milk value chain, ranging from the requirements for feed to the treatment of waste. This will result in economic growth as well as environmental sustainability.
Taking assistance from the experts
The Integrated Milking Solutions and Consumables that DeLaval provides for dairy farms are designed to improve the overall performance of farms for professional milk producers. DeLaval is a leader in the global technology industry.
Its products, solutions, and services are all geared toward assisting dairy farmers all over the world in increasing their milk production while simultaneously improving their efficiency. In order to keep a healthy profit margin while reducing their use of natural resources and minimizing the damage their operations have on the environment, this entails using less natural resources.
DeLaval making dairy more sustainable and environment friendly
In May, DeLaval and John Deere collaborated to establish a digital ecosystem that would assist dairy farmers in becoming more sustainable and efficient. This move is a continuation of the global efforts that have been made to make dairy more environment friendly and socially responsible. Using the cloud-based Milk Sustainability Center, which is a brand-neutral interface, producers are able to remotely streamline their operations by monitoring the efficiency with which they use nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and carbon dioxide equivalent.
From a practical standpoint, the Milk Sustainability Center, which was initially announced in September, enables producers to make decisions that are both environmentally responsible and profit-driven. Through the process of comparing the performance of a farm to other benchmark values, the interface is able to discover areas that require improvement.
It is possible for the programme to provide advice to stop the loss of nutrients. In addition, it is able to model hypothetical situations by utilising novel technologies or approaches, so producing anticipated results on the efficiency of nutrient utilisation, carbon footprint, and profitability.
Both a desktop computer and a mobile application are able to display data. Farmers have the ability to pick the entire farm, individual fields, or a particular herd in order to perform data curation. They are able to make the decision to share it with other partners, like consultants and dealers.
Views from the partners
Director of B.L. Kamdhenu Farms Navneet Ravikar stated that this relationship with DeLaval is a significant turning point in the company’s history. As part of B.L. Kamdhenu Farms’ attempts to innovate and transform the White Revolution, this is an important step that the firm has taken. By forming this partnership, company is committing to the establishment of a milk value chain that is both fully integrated and environmentally responsible. “Because we can only produce long-term advantages for farmers and the environment collectively if we guarantee that there will be no waste at all,” he added.
“When it comes to dairy farming technology, DeLaval is a global leader. The company’s mission is to improve production while simultaneously lowering its impact on the environment and ensuring the welfare of the animals involved. It delivers experience in integrated solutions that improve a) the quality of milk, b) the amount of output, and c) the overall quality of life for dairy producers. Within the context of the global dairy industry, the cooperation will boost India’s standing while also making a substantial contribution to the country’s efforts to achieve its sustainability goals,” he explained further.
The Ambassador of Sweden, HE Jan Thesleff, expressed his excitement over the relationship, stating that Sweden is proud to be a part of India’s journey towards sustainable agriculture and dairy breakthroughs. “Our common values of innovation, sustainability, and economic prosperity are reflected in this memorandum of understanding. We have faith that the relationship between B.L. Kamdhenu Farms and DeLaval will demonstrate to the entire world the positive effects that international collaborations can have on the lives of all individuals,” he opined.
