Agilent Technologies has unveiled a series of transformative initiatives, strategic partnerships, and groundbreaking product releases to strengthen its position as a global leader in analytical laboratory solutions, life sciences, and diagnostics. The company is poised for accelerated growth with a focus on innovation, sustainability, and customer-centric strategies.

Agilent Technologies recently announced a new organisational structure, including leadership changes, that will expedite the company’s operational transformation and foster higher growth through a market-focused, customer-centric enterprise strategy. The new structure takes effect immediately.

Recognition and Awards:

In October, Agilent announced that Dr Adeyemi Adeleye, an Earth and Environmental Engineering assistant professor at Columbia University, received the 2024 Early Career Professor Award for contributing to environmental health and sustainability.

Based on employee satisfaction surveys, Agilent was named to Fortune’s list of Best Workplaces in the World, ranking 11th among 25 companies.

The Agilent 6495D Triple Quadrupole LC/MS System won the Scientist’s Choice Award for “Best New Analytical Science Product of 2023.”

Innovative Products and Solutions:

The Mito-rOCR Assay Kit was launched in November, providing an end-to-end solution for analysing mitochondrial function.

Agilent released its next-generation InfinityLab LC Series portfolio, including the 1290 Infinity III LC, featuring InfinityLab Assist Technology for enhanced laboratory efficiency.

In August, the company introduced the J&W 5Q GC/MS Columns, delivering advanced performance and durability in gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.

Strategic Partnerships:

Collaborating with the National University of Singapore (NUS) established the NUS-Agilent Centre of Excellence in Cell Metabolism to advance cardiovascular and metabolic disease research.

Agilent partnered with Sangon Biotech in China to launch a ‘Digital Demonstration Laboratory’.

A partnership with ICAR-National Research Centre for Grapes aims to co-develop advanced analytical workflows for food safety protocols.

Acquisitions and Investments:

Agilent acquired BIOVECTRA, a Canadian contract development and manufacturing organisation, specialising in biologics and targeted therapeutics.

In July, the company acquired Sigsense Technologies, a start-up focused on AI and power monitoring for lab operations.

Sustainability and Leadership:

The company received two 2023 Sustainability Scientists’ Choice Awards for its contributions as a sustainable supplier and developer of sustainable products.

Padraig McDonnell was appointed as CEO, succeeding Mike McMullen, who will serve as an adviser until his retirement.
