ITCFSAN celebrates 6th Foundation Day

The event marked a celebration of the spirit of collaboration with various stakeholders — bringing together leaders from academia, industry and regulatory bodies

The International Training Centre for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (ITCFSAN) celebrated its 6th Foundation Day in a grand and inspiring ceremony, reaffirming its commitment to collaboration, innovation, and capacity-building in the field of food safety. The event marked a celebration of the spirit of collaboration with various stakeholders — bringing together leaders from academia, industry and regulatory bodies who have played a pivotal role in advancing ITCFSAN’s mission over the years.

The celebration was graced by Dr Michelangelo Anastassiades, a world-renowned analytical scientist and Head of the EU Reference Laboratory for Pesticides Requiring Single Residue Methods (EURL-SRM), who delivered the keynote address. His presence added immense value to the occasion, reinforcing the global relevance of ITCFSAN’s work.

The event was also attended by various senior leadership from FSSAI, EIA, Academia and Indian Navy: Pritee Chaudhary, IRS, Director, FSSAI – Western Region, Dr Uday S Annapure, Head, Department of Food Engineering and Technology, ICT Mumbai, Captain Praveen Kumar, Base Logistics Officer, Mumbai, Captain Vipul Vohra, Training Captain, INS Hamla, SG Dwivedi, Joint Director, Export Inspection Agency (EIA), Mumbai, Vaidehi Kalzunkar, Deputy Director, FSSAI – Western Region and Subhaprada Nishtala, Head – Academic Programs, ITCFSAN.

Three distinctive training programmes were launched: Specially designed to meet the diverse needs of stakeholders across the food safety ecosystem, these programmes focus on practical skill-building and regulatory readiness.
