Millers for Nutrition and Bühler partner to improve nutrition across eight countries

The coalition assists millers in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Tanzania in fortifying wheat and maize flours, edible oil, and rice

Millers for Nutrition, a coalition of key stakeholders in food fortification committed to assisting millers in fortifying staple foods, announced the addition of Bühler as a technology partner. Bühler, a global leader in grain processing solutions and a provider for the food, feed, and mobility industries, will contribute its advanced technology, extensive expertise, and training capabilities to support customers in wheat flour, maize milling, rice, and extrusion with fortification solutions.

“We’re delighted that Bühler has joined us as a Food Processing Solutions Provider,” said Riz Yusufali, program director. “As our millers evolve, they require a broader range of support services. Bühler’s world-class expertise will help enhance their businesses while improving food safety and nutrition.”

The coalition assists millers in Bangladesh, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Tanzania in fortifying wheat and maize flours, edible oil, and rice. Food fortification involves the deliberate addition of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) to commonly consumed foods to improve their nutritional quality, ultimately enhancing the health status of entire populations. The initiative aims to improve nutrition for 1 billion people globally by 2026.
