The All-India Spice Exporters Forum has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the American Spice Trade Association (ASTA), marking a significant advancement in global cooperation within the spice industry.

This agreement was finalised at the International Spice Conference 2025 in Bangalore and aims to strengthen the relationship between India and the United States in the spice business. The MoU focuses on enhancing food safety, and regulatory compliance, and promoting the adoption of best practices in the spice sector.

Special attention will be given to areas such as information exchange, technical cooperation, and industry promotion. By keeping each other informed about changes in government policies, market needs, food safety standards, and trade regulations, both organisations hope to enhance communication and ensure that stakeholders in the spice trade remain updated on the latest developments.

Additionally, the agreement emphasises the exchange of critical market insights. For example, ASTA will provide the Indian Forum with information regarding demand and specific requirements for spices in the American market. In return, ASTA will receive updates on the production and stock status of Indian spices, enabling both sides to adapt their strategies as needed.
